  1. Stena orders more RoRo ship conversions from Cargotec


    September 3rd, 2010   In August Cargotec received a further conversion contract from Stena Line for work onboard its 43,487gt RoPax vessel Stena Britannica.

    MacGregor equipment and conversion work for Stena Britannica includes the supply of two watertight side-hinged bulkhead doors for the lower hold and a new top-hinged passenger door on deck 8 that opens inwards. read more >>>

  5. Cargotec wins EUR 13 million worth of MacGregor hatch cover orders from Grieg Shipping

    September 2nd, 2010  Cargotec has signed a contract to deliver MacGregor hatch covers for six 48,700 dwt open-hatch cargo ships ordered by Norwegian shipowner Grieg Shipping. The ships will be built at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea. The order is booked into the third quarter 2010 order intake. read more >>>

    September 1st, 2010  Stringent rules against ships exhausting black smoke within sight of shore – notably in regions such as Alaska and Hawaii, where cruise ships and tankers are particularly vulnerable – are backed up by ‘spotters’ employed by authorities to report any infringements. The strategy is becoming more widespread around the world, with penalties extending from warnings and fines to future banishment of guilty tonnage from the area. read more >>>
